Stunning Redwoods & Bustling Capitola

Sara and her mom, Didi, took me out to the amazing red wood forests and around northern Monterrey for the day. Absolutely stunning.

Cross section through one of the big old red woods.

Really old.

Deer in the forest.

The trees twist around to get maximum sunlight, giving the trunks interesting patterns over time.

A new installation for Sara and my book of cartwheels across the world.

Not the oldest but one of the tallest, around 100m high.

After shopping around some of the towns along the way, we stopped in Capitola for iced chai tea. Great views of the Venetian style hotel on the beach.

After a divine meal at a seafood restaurant on the water, we stopped by Sara's grandparents house where her and Charlie's wedding is going to be in September.

A gorgeous sunset over Monterrey Bay.
