On my last evening in Cairo we went to a stunning restaurant in Azhar Park. The park itself is absolutely beautiful, landscaped with water features and lawns lined with palm trees. Most amazing of all is that it is built on top of what was a rubbish dump in one of the poorer areas of the city. It is free for people from the local community, and is a very successful and inspiring initiative!
