Craik Eco-Centre

We spent the day at the Craik Eco-Centre / Village between Regina and Saskatoon. Somr really interesting principles and people, and a great case study of sustainability in practice - for Canada at least.

Katherina & Shumi.

"Do you know this girl? Found in an old book." Message next to photo in very small museum in very small town with quite a short history, so much so that the message left seems normal.

A wonderful couple showed us how they were building their house out of straw bales. Not like the fable, but actually has great insulation properties, comes from locally sourced products and boasts a greatly reduced carbon footprint. Plus, it looks amazing once plastered.

Justin & Ayumi.

Emeka on top of the tractor, overlooking the flat expanse of Saskatchewan.

Local farmer.

Sunset over the fields.

Another eco-friendly house built overlooking a lake (below).

Driving golf carts around the eco-friendly golf course was way cool.

Justin tearing up the green.

A pack of deranged golf carts on the loose.

Ayumi, like a bat out of hell.

Ryu & Aziz overtaking us, or at least trying to.
